Gianna is a Senior Medical Writer in US Medical Affairs for Janssen Oncology, a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, with experience in drafting, editing, development, project management, and submission activities for abstracts, manuscripts, and medical communication deliverables (e.g., PowerPoint slide decks and other training tools) as well as contributing roles in revising or developing regulatory documents. Previously, she worked as a Medical Writer under Janssen’s Immunology organization, providing similar support for scientific publications reporting on clinical trial data for research and development, medical affairs studies, and health economics and outcomes research analyses in the dermatology, rheumatology, and gastroenterology therapeutic areas. She also participates in various affinity groups, including those focused on sustainability, women’s leadership, STEM activities in youth, and diversity and inclusion in clinical trials. Prior to Janssen, Gianna worked as a medical writing intern for Quinnova Pharmaceuticals under the guidance of a freelance medical writer, with involvements in manuscript development and marketing research strategies for dermatological products with innovative routes of administration. 

Gianna holds a BA from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA, where she studied English and Biology; an MS in Biomedical Writing from University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, PA, with research experience in evaluating the prevalence and work productivity impact of illness anxiety (formerly hypochondriasis) among biomedical writers; and an MPH from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, with research experience focused on evaluating the potential impacts of genome-driven precision oncology on health disparities in the US.

Gianna lives in Philadelphia, PA, where she enjoys competitive CrossFit, spending time with her friends and family, and attending speaker events at her alma maters and other medical and public health institutions in the Philadelphia area.
